Screening for Plagiarism Policy
Geotenses: International Journal of Future Geography Education is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and originality. To uphold these standards, all submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous plagiarism screening process before being sent for peer review.
Plagiarism Screening Process
- Every manuscript is checked using reputable plagiarism detection software (e.g., Turnitin, iThenticate) to identify similarities with published works.
- Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 20%(excluding references, quotations, and common phrases) will be carefully reviewed by the editorial team.
Actions for Detected Plagiarism
- If minor similarities are detected, authors may be asked to revise the manuscript to properly cite sources or rephrase content.
- Manuscripts found to contain significant plagiarism or duplicated content without proper citation will be rejected outright.
- Cases of suspected plagiarism may lead to notifications to the authors’ affiliated institutions and further investigation.
Author Responsibilities
- Authors must ensure their work is original and properly cites all sources and previous publications.
- Self-plagiarism (republication of the author’s own previously published work without acknowledgment) is also prohibited.
By submitting a manuscript to Geotenses, authors confirm that the submission complies with the journal’s ethical standards on plagiarism and originality.
