Author Guidelines

Authors who wish to submit manuscripts to Geotenses: International Journal of Future Geography Education are required to follow the guidelines below to ensure a smooth and standardized review and publication process.

1. Manuscript Submission

  • Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission system or via the official journal email.
  • Submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.
  • All manuscripts will undergo a double-blind peer review

2. Manuscript Structure

The manuscript should be written in clear academic English and follow this general structure:

  • Title(clear, concise, and informative)
  • Author(s)and affiliation(s) (without academic titles)
  • Abstract(150–250 words, including objectives, methods, findings, and conclusions)
  • Keywords(3–5 keywords separated by commas)
  • Introduction
  • Literature Review(optional, may be integrated into Introduction)
  • Methods
  • Results and Discussion
  • Conclusion and Recommendations
  • Acknowledgements(if applicable)
  • References

3. Formatting Guidelines

  • Use APA 7th editionfor citations and references.
  • Manuscripts should be typed in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx)
  • Font: Times New Roman, size 12, 1.5 spacing, A4 paper size, with 2.5 cm margins.
  • Word count: 4,000–7,000 words (excluding references).
  • Tables and figures should be numbered, titled, and placed within the text.

4. Plagiarism Policy

All manuscripts will be checked for plagiarism. Manuscripts with a similarity index above 20% will be rejected or returned for revision.

5. Authorship and Contributions

All listed authors must have made significant contributions to the research and writing process. Please include a brief Author Contribution Statement (CRediT taxonomy is encouraged).

6. Publication Fees

To support the operational costs of editorial processing, peer review, and open access publication, Geotenses: International Journal of Future Geography Education charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) of 25 USD for each accepted manuscript.

7. Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright of their work and agree to license their article under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0).

8. Ethical Considerations

Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest and ensure the research complies with ethical standards. For studies involving human subjects, appropriate ethics approval must be documented.

When submitting, please include the following files:

  3. Cover Letter(Brief statement introducing the manuscript and its significance)
  4. Ethics Statement(If applicable for research involving human subjects)
  5. Author Contribution Statement(Using CRediT taxonomy, if available)

Language and Format

Manuscripts must be written in clear academic English. Authors whose first language is not English are encouraged to have their manuscripts reviewed by a native speaker or professional editing service prior to submission.

Acknowledgement of Submission

Upon successful submission, authors will receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive confirmation within 3 working days, please contact the editorial office.
